F6F Hellcat Air Show Flight | Video

Ride along on the tail of a World War II-era Grumman F6F Hellcat during the Beale Air Force Base air show in this video produced by Staff Sgt. Ramon A. Adelan. The Hellcat was the successor to the F4F Wildcat, another Grumman aircraft, in U.S. Navy service during World War II. During the flight, the Hellcat formates on a Russian Yak-3 aircraft painted in the colors of the Normandie-Niemen Fighter Regiment, a wing of fighters flown by French pilots for Russia against the German Luftwaffe.
