The Colorado wildfires continue, and the U.S. military continues to help civilian agencies fight them. In this video, an Army National Guard UH-60 Black Hawk uses a “Bambi Bucket” to suppress or extinguish spot fires that are part of the High Park Fire. The Bambi Bucket can be dipped into any available body of water and then taken to the scene of the fire. While the bucket does not have the water capacity of some of the fixed-wing air tankers, the helicopter’s ability to move in at a slower speed allows more accuracy in its drops. This clip was taken from video shot by Air National Guard Senior Master Sgt. John Rohrer.
