French Armee De l’Air, Royal Air Force, and U.S. Air Force aircraft participated in an inaugural Trilateral Exercise at Langley Air Force Base Dec. 7, 2015. These images show the latest, greatest aircraft from each of the three air forces in formation together as they participate in an exercise that simulated a “highly-contested, degraded and operationally-limited environment.” Typhoons from the RAF’s 11 Squadron, Rafales from the Armee De l’Air’s SPA 162, and F-22s from the U.S. Air Force’s 27th Fighter Squadron are shown in the photos, along with a T-38 Talon “aggressor” aircraft from the 71st Fighter Training Squadron.

A U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor, British Royal Air Force Typhoon, and French air force Rafale fly in formation as part of an inaugural Trilateral Exercise held at Langley Air Force Base, Virginia, Dec. 7, 2015. The exercise simulates a highly-contested, degraded and operationally-limited environment where U.S. and partner pilots and ground crews can test their readiness. T-38s and F-5s have been acting as aggressor aircraft for decades in exercises and dissimilar air combat training. U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Kayla Newman
A Royal Air Force Typhoon of 11 Squadron out of RAF Leeming flies as part of the inaugural Trilateral Exercise held at Langley Air Force Base, Va., Dec. 7, 2015. The Typhoon provides the RAF with a highly capable agile multi-role combat aircraft, capable of being deployed in full air operations, such as air policing, peace support and high intensity conflict. It is also operated by Austria, Spain, Germany, Italy, and Saudi Arabia. U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Kayla Newman
